Do You See Gloom?

I was out in California in early December with my Son. While I was there I read an article named Everything Is Amazing and Nobody Is Happy. The article covered many great points about how we as a society take positive events or news and turn them into something negative.

refocus

In the article, the author Morgan Housel, gave the example of cell phones. We have this great device that has improved drastically from what it was in the early 90’s and we are still not happy. We get mad at an inanimate object when the reception goes out for a few seconds. Housel points out a comedians take. He says, “Can you give it a second. It’s going to space.” We get so wrapped up in the little things that we forget that we have this amazing product that can do amazing things.

In his article, Housel takes this concept and applies it to the economy and finances. This article made me realize it is important to take a step back and see things a different way.

Taking a step back and refocusing on things is a great Financial Strategy For Life.
