What do you think of when you think of Summer Parties?

I’m sure its not saving and budgeting! Throwing a party does not always mean that you need to spend thousands for the most luxurious things out there. Why spend a crazy amount of money on things that end up broken or thrown away? There are some easy to follow guide lines below to keep you on track when spending for your epic party. 1724728_com_budget

1) Set a finalized total you are willing to pay.

It is important to come up with an exact total you are willing to spend because you can further dictate where the money gets spent. You can divide the budget between categories like decorations, table design, tables, chairs, food, desserts, etc. You can even divide the budget by the number of guests  you think will be coming. This way you know how much to dictate towards each guest. None the less it is important to know what you are willing to spend because it saves you time and a “surprise” bill when it is all said and done!

2) Make a guest list.

Making a guest list helps you know exactly how many people to expect and helps when applying your budget.

3) Look for deals.

Most of the time you can find deals for a lot of things you need. Look on sites like Living Social for deals on cakes, cupcakes, entertainment, tables, chairs etc. Finding deals allows you to save even more money. By saving  more, you can allocate the extra money towards a nice venue. Besides on-line deals, you can go to party rental places. They usually have discounts depending on how big your party is. This is another reason why it is important to know how many guest you are expecting.

4) Shop at places you would not think of shopping.

Many times we think it is important to go to the big party supply places like Party City, but this is not always true. Go to places like Dollar General or Hobby Lobby. They have the same things at  lower prices. No one will be able to tell the difference. It is not always important to have the biggest name brands.

Following these four easy steps can save you time and money down the road. Having an amazing party does not mean you have to clean out your wallet! Being smart when planning your parties is a great Financial Strategy For Life!
